Coffee Cup Editor. HTML editing software that is very easy to use and sells for under $50 with lifetime upgrades.

Text Pad HTML editor. Another easy to use html editor. I have used both of these programs a lot, with great results.

Core FTP is a File Transfer Program that is very easy to use and there is no cost to use the free version wich will work very nicely.

FTP Explorer
FTP Explorer is also a FTP (file transfer) program and this is at no cost as well. Very easy to use.

XPlorer is a program that will put 2 windows on your desktop and allow you to transfer files between them. Move files easily on your own desktop, Easy to use.

Same as above, just another version. Both are very good and very easy to use.

Meta Tags. This program will help ypou with Meta Tags on your site. You should really get to know this free program.

This ad free redirection service provides an url in the form of a subdomain and has several domains to choose from. Its' service also tracks visitors to your site and if you have a mirror site (the same site on a different server) it can balance traffic between the 2 sites.

Get rid of that long url with free url redirection service. One of the advantages of having one is you can change as many space providers as you want and your url remains the same. Cjb places no ads on your site and gives a url in the form of a subdomain: you.cjb.net Matching email address also available.

Macromedia's Homesite5 This program is excellent for editing web pages. Homesite will not add in code that you do not want, it simply allows you to pick the HTML code from a list. You simply click the code you want and it puts it where you want it. Nothing more, nothing less.
Textpad
Textpad is another editing program that simply provides you with a point and click menu to select your code.

As I suggested before, expect the unexpected when you use a freebie hosting company for your web site.
FreeWebs
This provider has a 50 file limit, there are no ads placed on your webpages, and upload is by browser. Your url would be something like: www.freewebs.com/you

Netfirms
You get 25 megs of space. A banner is placed at the top of all your webpages. Upload is by ftp and cgi scripts are allowed. They will host a domain address for free or they'll give you a subdomain which means it would look something this: www.you.netfirms.com
