Coffee Cup Editor. HTML editing software that is very easy to use and sells for under $50 with lifetime upgrades.

Text Pad HTML editor. Another easy to use html editor. I have used both of these programs a lot, with great results.

Core FTP is a File Transfer Program that is very easy to use and there is no cost to use the free version wich will work very nicely.

FTP Explorer
FTP Explorer is also a FTP (file transfer) program and this is at no cost as well. Very easy to use.

XPlorer is a program that will put 2 windows on your desktop and allow you to transfer files between them. Move files easily on your own desktop, Easy to use.

Same as above, just another version. Both are very good and very easy to use.

Meta Tags. This program will help ypou with Meta Tags on your site. You should really get to know this free program.

Did You Know

The World Wide Web is full of free stuff. From soup to nuts; if it's anywhere, it's on the internet. Search engines are the easiest way to find "free" stuff. Simply open your favorite search vehicle and type in what you are looking for. An example might be "freeware editor" or "graphics free". I would suggest you narrow your search somewhat to the area you are looking in, as the word "free" will bring up some million and one hits, and I doubt that anything you may be interested in would be found in the first 30 or so pages.

The links below will provide you with a start on the freeware that is on the internet. From these sites you can find links to many others, so the search engine issue may never come up.

Another type of of program is "shareware" which is almost free, except the owner would like a little something for his efforts. Shareware is a very good value and well worth considering.

FTP Software
FREE FTP File size: 1.34mb
Easily select and transfer multiple files at once. This program also has create and delete features plus the renaming of files.

FTP EDITOR File Size:1.1mb
This is both a full featured ftp client and and html editor.Some of the features include: editing files directly from the remote side, opening multiple files from different folders and the ability to store ftp accounts.

SENDToFTP File Size:
This easy to use ftp client makes uploading files to the internet just one click away. Ideal for web publishing and updating.

FTP COMMANDER File size: 173kb
This ftp program offers a lot of the features found in commercial programs such as delete, rename and copy files, and create and delete directories on the server.

HTML Editors
HTML-KIT File size: 1.7mb
An easy to use program for Windows designed to help edit, format, preview and publish webpages. Good start for beginners since it points out errors and suggests improvements to their code.Some functions include drag and drop, spell checker and thesaurus.

EASY HTML File Size: 2.3mb
A user friendly html editor with a large help file and built-in broswer for previewing pages. Has a lot of features including making custom toolbars and the ablility to edit multiple html documents at the same time.

HTML BUILDER File Size: 3.8mb
This html editor for Windows has a built in spell checker. Some other features include custom color palette, custom file extension(eg. htm, html, shtml, etc.), and with the file tabs on the bottom you can quickly switch between documents.

GRAPHICS SOFTWARE

TROUT'S GIF OPTIMIZER File size: 365kb
This freeware program shrinks the file size of gif graphics and a small file size is important in web design, it even converts other graphic formats such as bmp and jpg into gif images.

ZPAINT File Size: 2.5mb
This little graphics program makes 3D elements for websites. You can easily paint raised or lowered shapes such as buttons, rings,etc. or add special effects to existing graphics. Special effects include adjustable depth and gloss.
